American Idiot

Directed and Choregraphed by Andrew Palermo

This musical hit, tells the story of 3 young men struggling with drug addiction and trying to find their place in the world. Set in today’s world, the story begins in fictitious Jingletown, the costumes for which are all black, white, and grey. Once 2 of the young men journey to the city, based off of LA, a splash of red is added to the world. As more characters enter the story, some real and others imaginary, the young men eventually both end up back in their home town reunited with the friends and family they left behind.

This production featured fast paced choreography, centered around modern dance. For this production Jennifer designed a light up dress for the Extraordinary girl. She worked closely with lighting designer David Hernandez and Master Electrician Jacob P. Brinkman to create a dress fully lined in L.E.D. fairy lights, that featured 2 different strands of lights that could be battery powered and remotely operated by the lighting designer.
